Carol Sadowski was born in Chicago where she studied at North Park
College and received her degree from Wright College and was granted a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago as well as the Salmagundi Club of New York. She also studied art at the Westbury Art Workshop of Long
Island and taught art at the Malverne High School in Long Island.
Her work has been exhibited or is on display at the Hemingway Museum in San Francisco de Paula, the Hemingway Marina and the Presidential Palace in
Havana, Cuba, the Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West and the executive offices of Sun Bank in Miami.
In
1985, she received permission from the U.S. Government to visit Cuba for research on Ernest Hemingway. She and husband, photographer Edmund, were guests of the Cuban government in 1990, attending many social functions in her honor.
Sadowski's commissions include paintings for the San Augustin Antiqua Foundation of St. Augustine, the Bonnet House of Fort Lauderdale, the Joseph Young House, founder of Hollywood, Florida, for the Bank
Atlantic. Her memberships in organizations include the Hemingway Society, International Platform Association, Salmagundi Club of New York, charter member of Women in the Arts National Museum, the National Trust for
Historic Preservation and Florida History Associates.
Carol's paintings of Ernest Hemingway and Gregorio Fuentes (Old Men and The Sea) were featured on The Today Show in February 1992.
She has had numerous television appearances and publication coverage depicting her delightful works of art. Palm Beach Life magazine in its April 1984 issue "Singled Out for Success" Carol Johnson Sadowski
